You’ve all heard the numbers. The average consumer is shopping less than two dealerships in person prior to buying a vehicle. That means they’re doing all their shopping on the internet and telephone. You might have a dealership staffed by walk around champions and the best closers this side of Tony Robbins, but the fact is, if you’re not converting your telephone and Internet opportunities aggressively and quickly, you’re out of luck.
I’m not just talking about inbound: just as importantly you need to have a strong focus on outbound sales calls as well. Your success as a dealer is dependent on your ability to convert opportunities. There’s no disputing that. As an industry though, we still haven’t all necessarily figured it out. In this day and age when just as many dealerships are grasping for the answer with a BDC, just as many BDC’s are being dismantled.
